MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government will implement a road closure starting today until Saturday for the Taguig River Festival.
In an advisory posted yesterday, the city government said the portion of General Luna street from Global Oil to Mr. DIY in Barangay Tuktukan will be closed from 10 p.m. on July 26 to 10 p.m. on July 27.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes.
The “Indakan sa Daan,” which is part of the festival, was originally scheduled yesterday but was moved to July 27 due to the inclement weather conditions brought by monsoon rains intensified by Typhoon Carina.
“The city of Taguig and the parish want to ensure the safety of the participants of the event, which is part of the Taguig River Festival celebrated in honor of St. Anne,” Taguig said in a separate statement.
“It also gives us time to recover from the flooding that affected the entire National Capital Region and nearby provinces,” the city government added.
