MANILA, Philippines — Councilor Fernando Miguel “Mikey” Belmonte and Sen. Francis Tolentino have partnered to construct multi-purpose buildings (MPBs) in Quezon City’s District 2.
On Tuesday, Belmonte and Tolentino led three groundbreaking ceremonies for three MPBs: 6th Alley in Barangay Batasan Hills, Naski in Barangay Bagong Silangan and St. Michael street of Barangay Holy Spirit.
Belmonte, in partnership with Tolentino, will spearhead the construction of seven more multi-purpose buildings in Veterans, Barangay Bagong Silangan; Area B in Barangay Payatas; Pilot Drive in Barangay Commonwealth; Kalayaan in Barangay Batasan Hills and Samonte in Barangay Holy Spirit.
Belmonte firmly believes that MPBs are the heart of a community.
“These are key investments that we must make for our constituents. While they function as an extension of the city and the barangay government to deliver their respective services, these also function as strategic venues for income generating activities of our micro enterprises,” he said.
Belmonte noted that MPBs “also provide a safe and comfortable venue to convene and strengthen governance of our homeowners’ association, senior citizens associations and other people’s organizations. MPBs as social infrastructure will always play a pivotal role in empowering and building sustainable communities.”
