MANILA, Philippines — Two women, including one who had been missing for a month, were found buried in Lucena, Quezon on Monday.

The remains of one of the women, identified as Ronalyn Alvarez, was chopped into three parts.

The bodies were discovered after Alvarez’s partner, Ryan Porga, 29, confessed to killing her, according to Lt. Col. William Angway Jr., acting Lucena police chief.

Reports said Porga broke down and confessed while he was being interviewed by investigators regarding the disappearance of Alvarez.

Porga told probers that he and Alvarez had a quarrel on June 30 and that he stabbed her with an icepick several times.

He said he used a bolo to chop Alvarez’s body into three parts and placed each part in separate sacks.

Porga said he buried the remains under their shanty in Barangay 5.

The suspect also told police that in March 2023, he and Alvarez allegedly killed a woman named Analyn Orejada and placed her body in a drum.

He said they buried the drum under the floor of their shanty and sealed it with concrete to conceal the crime.

Porga, accompanied by barangay officials, pointed to authorities the exact location of the cadavers.

The suspect is detained at the Lucena police detention cell as criminal charges are readied against him.
