MANILA, Philippines — The Calabarzon police has formed a special investigation task group (SITG) to hasten the probe of the killing of two Australians and a Filipina in a hotel in Tagaytay City in Cavite on Wednesday.
Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, Calabarzon police regional director, said the SITG David Fisk is looking for leads to identify and arrest the suspect who murdered the victims in the Lake Hotel in Barangay Maharlika West.
“We will make sure that those responsible will be held accountable for this gruesome crime,” Lucas said in a statement.
Closed-circuit television footage showed a man wearing a hoodie, which authorities suspect to be the killer, walking along the hallway of the luxurious hotel.
Police investigators said the victims – a 57-year-old Australian man, his 55-year-old Filipino wife and her 30-year-old daughter – were found in a room with their hands and feet bound and their mouths sealed with packaging tape.
