SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines — The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force signed a memorandum of agreement allowing the extended use of a 14,231-square-meter property within the Subic Bay Freeport for the PNP-SAF’s barracks and training center.

Eduardo Jose Aliño, SBMA chairman and administrator, said the agreement would translate to a better and more heightened safety and security advantage for the Subic Freeport community.

“The SBMA is allowing the 2nd Special Action Battalion of the PNP-SAF to extend its use of the property they have been using since 1998 for training,” Aliño said.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday by Aliño and Brig. Gen. Mark Pespes, PNP-SAF acting director.
