MANILA, Philippines — To boost infrastructure projects, Sen. Bong Go led the blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed municipal hall of Iba in Zambales on July 5.

As vice chairman of the Senate committee on finance, Go supported the funding for the project, saying it is important to the development of the community.

During the ceremony, Go highlighted the benefits of the new municipal hall. He said the hall would bring progress to the people of Iba.

“This municipal hall is not just a building. It is a symbol of progress and service to the people of Iba. It is designed to address the needs of our citizens efficiently and effectively,” Go said.

As an adopted son of Iba and Zambales, Go expressed pride in the construction of the town hall.

He commended local government officials led by Reps. Jay Khonghun and Doris Maniquiz, Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane, Vice Gov. Jacqueline Khonghun, Mayor Irenea Binan and Vice Mayor Joan Ballesteros for exerting efforts to advance the town.

“I am proud to see how far Iba has come. The local government’s efforts have been instrumental in making this project a reality. This hall will serve as a hub for governance and community services,” he said.

Iba declared Go as its adopted son in 2022 in recognition of his track record in bringing effective and efficient public service and his efforts in empowering local government units.

In a resolution, the Sangguniang Bayan of Iba highlighted Go’s public service career and his dedication to the country, particularly to local government units by allocating resources to empower LGUs.

The resolution also highlighted several projects that Go implemented in the town including the construction of the municipal building and provision of educational assistance to the youth.

He provided financial support to tricycle operators and drivers, vendors, barbers, fishermen and farmers during the pandemic.

Go reaffirmed his support for the town of Iba and the province of Zambales. He emphasized the critical role of infrastructure projects in regional development.

Aside from the Iba municipal hall, Go also supported the acquisition of multicabs and the concreting of a farm-to-market road in the area.

He supported the construction of a Super Health Center in Iba.
