CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Up to 5,855 people wanted for various offenses have been arrested in a series of police operations in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) from January to June.
The arrests were part of a campaign of the Philippine National Police dubbed “Oplan Manhunt-Charlie.”
Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, Calabarzon police director, said among those arrested were 1,861 most wanted persons.
The suspects are facing charges of murder, homicide, rape, theft, robbery, kidnapping and other offenses.
