MANILA, Philippines — Six senior officials of the Philippine National Police have been given new posts in another reshuffle in the PNP.

Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac was designated as director of the Area Police Command (APC) in Western Visayas.

From serving as chief of the PNP Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR), Banac assumed the new post, replacing Lt. Gen. Jonnel Estomo who was reassigned to the APC in Southern Luzon.

Banac also headed the elite Special Action Force and the Eastern Visayas police.

Taking over the helm of the DPCR is Brig. Gen. Rhoderick Augustus Alba who previously headed the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD).

Also getting new posts are Maj. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, who was appointed head of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM) and Brig. Gen. Jerich Royales who was reassigned to the DHRDD.

Brig. Gen. Vincent Ignacio was transferred to the Directorate for Comptrollership.

Col. Jean Fajardo, the PNP’s chief information officer, said the reshuffle was due to the retirement of several senior police officials.
