MANILA, Philippines — The remains of two Filipino seafarers who were killed in a Houthi attack in the Gulf of Aden arrived yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Dubai.

Houthi rebels launched a missile attack on True Confidence on March 6, killing two of 15 Filipino seafarers on board.

Representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration accompanied the relatives of the seafarers as the remains arrived at the Philippine Airlines cargo warehouse.

The state agencies coordinated with ship owners and local manning agencies to repatriate the seafarers’ remains.

Government assistance has been provided to the 13 rescued Filipino seafarers.
