Beauty pageant candidate, Israeli partner reported missing

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Police are investigating the disappearance of a beauty pageant candidate and her Israeli partner in Pampanga.

Relatives reported Geneva Lopez, 27, a candidate in the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga 2023, and her partner, Yitshak Cohen, 37, missing on June 22.

Lopez’s sister, Joni, informed the Angeles City police that her sister and her boyfriend went to Capas in Tarlac on June 21 to settle matters involving money.

Lopez and Cohen are residents of Barangay Malbanias in Angeles City.

A sport utility vehicle used by the couple was found burned in Barangay Cristo Rey in Capas on Monday.

Probers found in the vehicle a pouch containing Lopez’s ATM and identification cards.

Angeles City police chief Col. Amado Mendoza said probers have yet to review footage of closed-circuit televsion cameras installed in the area.
