MANILA, Philippines — A South Korean, allegedly wanted in his country for selling drugs online, has been arrested in Clark, Pampanga.
Choi Minjae, 33, was about to board a flight to Incheon, South Korea when agents of the Bureau of Immigration arrested him on Monday, according to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
Reports said the suspect sold $3.27 million worth of illegal drugs through online transactions between April 2022 and June 2023.
Choi was brought to the BI detention facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, where he would remain until his deportation.
“He is perpetually barred from entering the country again and will be included in the immigration blacklist,” Tansingco said.
He said the suspect was a subject of a red notice issued by the Interpol in February.
Choi was indicted before a South Korean court for drug trafficking. The court issued a warrant for his arrest.
