MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake rocked Surigao del Sur yesterday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 3:13 a.m. and its epicenter was located 23 kilometers south of Marihatag town.
The temblor was not expected to cause damage to property or generate aftershocks.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Sunday.
The epicenter of the quake was located 78 kilometers south of Sarangani Island.
The temblor was not expected to cause damage, but it could generate aftershocks, state seismologists said.
Both quakes were tectonic in origin.
