MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go inspected the Ibajay District Hospital Emergency Complex in Ibajay, Aklan on Sunday, where he reiterated his commitment to look after the health and welfare of Filipinos.

Go said the new emergency building at the Ibajay District Hospital is of paramount importance to the community.

The facility, which Go supported as vice chairman of the Senate committee on finance, will handle urgent and critical medical cases to significantly reduce response time for emergencies.

Being close to tourism destinations such as Boracay Island and Kalibo, the facility ensures efficient medical services for visitors and residents alike.

“Having an emergency building like this ensures that residents receive immediate and life-saving care during critical moments. It eases the burden on larger hospitals by providing a local option for urgent care, thereby streamlining healthcare delivery in the region,” Go said.

He said the facility would expand the hospital’s capacity and improve the quality of healthcare services provided to the people.

By investing in facilities like this, Go helps create a more resilient healthcare system that can better serve the needs of Ibajay residents.

He assured residents that he would continue supporting projects and initiatives that seek to improve the quality of medical and services for Filipinos.

During the event, Go was joined by Gov. Jo-en Miraflores, Ibajay Mayor Jose Miguel Miraflores and former governor Florencio Miraflores.

He distributed gift packs to barangay health workers who attended the event to assist the healthcare workers.

Go also supported the construction of a Super Health Center in Ibajay, which he visited on the same day.

The Super Health Center is a community-based facility that provides primary health services including consultations, diagnostics, maternal and child health care, and immunization.

Of the 700 Super Health Centers built nationwide through the efforts of Go, the Department of Health and concerned government agencies as well as local government units, 10 are in Aklan.
