MANILA, Philippines — Around one kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million was seized from a suspected drug pusher in Caloocan City yesterday.

Operatives of the Caloocan police arrested Francisco Albert Regpala, a high-value suspect in the illegal drug trade, in a sting in Barangay 14 at around 12:26 a.m.

Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Capital Region Police Office director, said the 29-year-old suspect met with police officers negotiating as drug buyers for the sale of shabu.

The suspect was handcuffed after he received the marked money, Nartatez said.

Meanwhile, Ronald Recoco, 33, was reportedly caught with three grams of shabu worth P18,900 in the same city yesterday.

Recoco was initially pulled over by police along a road in Barangay 80 at around 4:20 a.m. for not wearing a crash helmet.

Recoco attempted to escape but was collared along an alley. Police found the illegal drugs and a .38 caliber handgun in his sling bag.
