CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A Chinese man was arrested on Monday for alleged involvement in a kidnapping in Zambales.

An alias Wu, 35, was in a white BMW when he refused to pull over at a police checkpoint in Subic, according to Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo, Central Luzon police director.

After a brief chase, the suspect was intercepted in Barangay San Jose in Castillejos.

Upon verification, it was confirmed that the vehicle was involved in a kidnapping incident. The victim was a identified only as Yi, 33, a resident of Malate, Manila.

Wu, a resident of Davao City, was taken into custody along with the alleged kidnap victim for further investigation.
