28 caught in Metro Manila drug stings

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-eight people were arrested in Metro Manila during anti-narcotics operations conducted by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) over the past two days.

In a report, the NCRPO said the arrests resulted from 20 drug stings conducted in the region.

Police data showed that over 55 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and 8.6 grams of marijuana valued at P378,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the heightened operations aim to dismantle drug-related activities in Metro Manila.
