7,500 kilos of garbage collected in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines — At least 7,500 kilos of garbage were collected in a coastal cleanup drive in Navotas yesterday.

The cleanup along the shore of Manila Bay in Barangay Tangos North, was led by Vice Mayor Tito Sanches and joined by at least 387 city government employees and volunteers.

Around 500 sacks of garbage were collected and brought to a sanitary landfill.

Apart from local officials, representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and other government agencies took part in the cleanup drive.
