Koko’s wife, Papin get government posts
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed a senator’s wife and a singer to government posts.
Kathryna Yu-Pimentel, a chef by profession, was named special envoy for trade and investments to the United Arab Emirates for a term of six months.
She was accompanied by her husband, Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, when she took her oath before Marcos at Malacañang yesterday.
She also attended the courtesy call on Marcos of UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan later at the Palace.
Meanwhile, the President appointed singer Imelda Papin as acting member of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board of directors. Papin also took her oath before Marcos yesterday.
Last week, the President named retired Marikina regional trial court judge Felix Reyes as PCSO chairman, replacing Junie Cua.
