DMW: No Pinoys hurt in Jeddah building collapse

MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos were injured when a building collapsed in Central Jeddah, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reported yesterday.

DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac said the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Jeddah had not received any report of Filipinos injured in Friday’s incident.

The MWO-Jeddah visited the incident site and several nearby hospitals to check for any Filipinos taken there for treatment and found none.

Based on local media reports, at least eight people have been rescued from the collapsed structure.

The DMW said the MWO-Jeddah will continue monitoring the situation and coordinate with the Jeddah police as well as local medical and emergency services agencies to ensure the safety of Filipinos.
