DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Davao Mayor Sebastian Duterte is wishing to have peace with the Marcoses, although he clarified that his opinion does not reflect that of his entire family.

“I will always choose peace over conflict,” Duterte said over the weekend. “This is just my own opinion. I do not know about my father. I don’t know about them (family).”

The feud between the Marcoses and Dutertes intensified over the people’s initiative on Charter change.

Duterte and his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, have also accused President Marcos of being a drug abuser.

They have acccused the government of having a hand in the cancellation of the rallies of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago in Bulacan and several other areas in the country.

Mayor Duterte said he wished that the UniTeam of his sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, and Marcos remained intact.

“It would have been better if the UniTeam is still there,” Duterte said.
