MANILA, Philippines — The businessman accused of killing a family driver during a road rage incident along the EDSA-Ayala tunnel in Makati was charged with murder before the city prosecutor’s office yesterday.
Gerrard Raymund Yu underwent inquest proceedings in the presence of his lawyer and police investigators at around 10 a.m., according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
The complaint against Yu has been submitted for resolution as the suspect waived his right to a preliminary investigation, according to GMA News Online.
Yu appealed to the media and urged the public not to judge him.
“I am appealing to the media. I am a good person, I am not bad. I’m asking the public, please don’t judge me,” Yu said in a video posted by dzBB.
Yu allegedly shot dead the 65-year-old driver of a Toyota Innova, who was with a 47-year-old housemaid and a seven-year-old Filipino-Japanese boy at the time of the shooting.
