MANILA, Philippines — Three fishermen were rescued from a boat that ran aground in the waters off Oriental Mindoro on Monday.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Southern Tagalog district said the FBCA Lady Pink was traversing the waters off Barangay Wawa in Pinamalayan town when it experienced engine trouble.
The PCG sub-station in Pinamalayan received a distress call and made arrangements for the boat to be towed for repair to Barangay Papandayan.
The rescued fishermen were turned over to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. They were taken to a hospital for medical examination.
