MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Railway chairman Michael Macapagal yesterday refuted allegations that he illegally used the EDSA bus lane.

Traffic enforcers on May 26 pulled over a white Ford Ranger allegedly owned by Macapagal.

“I do not own a white Ford Ranger pickup. I do not own a pickup truck at all,” Macapagal told The STAR.

He presented authorities closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that showed he was in Olongapo, Pampanga on May 26.

“I intend to file charges against those behind the false allegations against me,” Macapagal said.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said it is reviewing CCTV footage to establish the driver’s identity, he said.
