BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Murder charges were filed yesterday against two suspects in the killing of a businesswoman in Bangued, Abra on Monday.

Catherine Aguilar, 38, a hog raiser from Barangay Quilliat in Langiden town was on her motorcycle parked in front of West Central School in Barangay Zone 3 when unidentified men on another motorbike approached and shot her in the head.

Aguilar was declared dead on arrival at the Abra Provincial Hospital.

Maj. Paul Claveria, Bangued police chief, said the suspected gunman, Joemar Bayle, was arrested at a checkpoint in Barangay Patucannay in Tayum.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
