Female cop held for beating up girl, 15
MANILA, Philippines — A policewoman is under investigation after she and two other people reportedly kidnapped and beat up a 15-year-old girl, whom she suspected was having an affair with her domestic partner, in Quezon City yesterday.
The 48-year-old police officer with the rank of chief master sergeant was apprehended together with one of her companions, a minor, following the incident that transpired in an apartelle in Barangay Bago Bantay at around 4:30 a.m. The policewoman’s other companion, an 18-year-old man, remains at large.
Investigators said the policewoman caught the girl and her partner about to leave the apartelle.
The policewoman reportedly beat up the girl, forced the victim into her car and brought her to the condominium unit occupied by the 18-year-old suspect, who hit the victim on the head with a handgun.
The girl was then taken to a house in Bago Bantay, where the minor suspect resided. The trio reportedly took turns in physically assaulting the victim, probers said.
When the victim was released, she went to the Project 6 police station and recounted her ordeal to investigators.
The policewoman is being held on charges of physical injury in relation to Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
