Go aids Navotas poor
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go on Monday distributed food packs to indigent residents in Navotas City.
Snacks, vitamins, masks, shirts, basketballs and volleyballs were also distributed to the beneficiaries. Select recipients received bicycles, watches, shoes and mobile phones.
Additional assistance to 500 qualified poor residents was provided in partnership with Sen. Ronald dela Rosa’s office.
Thousands of qualified displaced workers participated in an orientation for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, which aims to engage beneficiaries in short-term employment opportunities while undertaking community development projects.
Go commended the Department of Labor and Employment’s proactive approach in addressing unemployment.
“The TUPAD program exemplifies the government’s commitment to uplifting the lives of those who need it the most. By helping the most vulnerable sectors, we create an environment where every Filipino can strive for a better future,” he said.
Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco thanked Go for funding educational institutions and infrastructure improvements, including the Navotas Polytechnic College, Kaunlaran High School and the Navotas fish port.
