MANILA, Philippines — Graduating students in public and elementary and senior high schools in Valenzuela City have started receiving P25 million in educational incentives from the local government.

Mayo Weslie Gatchalian said around 16,252 students are entitled to P1,500 in cash assistance under an ordinance that grants financial assistance to every graduating student in elementary and senior high school.

Students graduating with honors will also receive additional cash incentives ranging from P500 to P1,500.

The local government started distributing the financial incentives last May 15 and will end on May 21.

Gatchalian congratulated the students and thanked all the staff who ended the school year successfully.

Gatchalian hopes the cash assistance will motivate the students to do well in their studies in the next school year.
