BAGUIO CITY — Two alleged big-time drug suppliers from the National Capital Region were arrested early Thursday morning after they sold 25 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a government undercover anti-narcotics agent along Evangelist St. in Leonila Hill Barangay in Baguio City.
Salamia Tucalo and Joyce Montano were apprehended by operatives of the Philippine National Police’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unity (RDEU). They would face illegal drug charges after handing out the shabu and receiving P174,000.
According to the RDEU, the shabu being brought by the duo to Baguio City come from Dasmariñas, Cavite or Metro Manila. They often drop off the contraband at a still undisclosed location in Barangay Irisan here.
In March last year, nearly 600 kilos of shabu tucked in at least 575 packs of tea bags, marked with Chinese characters, were seized from a rented room makeshifted as the “warehouse” of a Chinese national at Purok 4, Irisan where Chinese national Hui Ming, alias “Tan”, 51, was caught.
