2 killed in Tawi-Tawi drug sting
COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Two drug suspects were killed in an alleged shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi on Monday.
Akmad Munib Usman and Gorrie Sajili Usman resisted arrest after selling 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 to undercover operatives in Barangay Libayuran, according to Gil Cesario Castro, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Three companions of the slain suspects tried to escape on a motorized boat, but they were injured when the vessel capsized.
Meanwhile, shabu valued at P3.4 million was recovered in a sting in Marawi on Tuesday.
Police said Arham Hadji Alim was arrested after selling the illegal drugs to anti-narcotics agents who posed as buyers in Barangay Marawi Poblacion.
