MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday signed an agreement with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to establish the MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy as an accredited Practical Driving Examination Center.

Under the agreement, motorcycle riders applying for a driver’s license must pass the tests conducted at the Motorcycle Academy.

The tests include serpentine maneuver, left turn and stop in the box, cone weave and U-turn, as well as acceleration and sudden braking.

In addition to practical examinations, the Motorcycle Academy will be interconnected with the Land Transportation Management System of the LTO.

The LTO will appoint driver’s skills raters to conduct the tests, the MMDA said.

The Motorcycle Riding Academy, established in September 2023, is located at the corner of Julia Vargas and Meralco Avenues in Pasig.
