Indonesian POGO worker escapes from captors
MANILA, Philippines — An Indonesian man, who was allegedly kidnapped in Makati, has been rescued in Silang, Cavite.
The victim, a 28-year-old worker in a Philippine offshore gaming operator firm, escaped from his captors and was found in front of a church in Barangay Malabag, police said.
The victim told police that unidentified men handcuffed and blindfolded him on May 4.
He said the suspects took his cell phone and wallet and brought him to a safe house in Tagaytay.
The suspects negotiated with his wife through messaging app Telegram for his release.
The victim said he managed to escape and ran for four hours until he reached Silang.
The local police has coordinated with the Bureau of Immigration and the Indonesian embassy on the fate of the victim.
