Magnitude 4.1 quake jolts Bohol

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 3:50 a.m., was located five kilometers north of Sagbayan town.

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Bohol yesterday.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 3:50 a.m., was located five kilometers north of Sagbayan town.

The temblor was felt at Intensity 4, which is classified as moderately strong, in Sagbayan; Intensity 3 in Batuan, Clarin and Danao, and Intensity 2 in Buenavista.

The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of two kilometers.

Phivolcs said there are no expected damage or aftershocks due to the quake.
