1 dead in Pangasinan road mishap

SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan, Philippines — A delivery rider died while his companion was injured when their motorcycle collided with a van in this town on Sunday.

Maxine Harvey Dacanay, 20, was declared dead on arrival at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan. His companion, Mac Jover Dacanay, 27, was taken to a rural health unit for treatment of injuries.

Investigation showed the victims were traveling in Barangay Guibel when they collided with the van driven by Reynold Bingayen of San Miguel, Bulacan.

Bingayen was not injured in the incident, but he was taken to the Mapandan Community Hospital for medical check-up.
