NBI team fails to find Quiboloy
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has urged Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ ministry to surrender after authorities failed to locate him in Calinan district, Davao City yesterday.
Agents from the NBI-Central Mindanao regional office went to Quiboloy’s property in Barangay Tamayong following reports of vehicles entering and leaving the premises.
Despite several attempts, authorities failed to find Quiboloy in the area, but his lawyer, Kathleen Kaye Laurente, accepted the arrest warrant against the preacher.
NBI-Davao region chief Arcelito Albao said a joint team composed of agents from the NBI and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group as well as other agencies continue to search for Quiboloy.
The preacher is facing three cases of sexual and child abuse before the Davao Regional Trial Court, and qualified human trafficking before the Pasay RTC.
Albao gave assurance that the NBI would remain vigilant about Quiboloy’s activities after the Bureau of Immigration canceled the passport of the accused.
