MANILA, Philippines — Former National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Edgar Okubo and four other Philippine National Police officials were reshuffled by PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil.
Under a memorandum issued on May 4, Okubo will be transferred from his post in the PNP Directorate for Police Community Relations to head the Civil Security Group.
Maj. Gen. Romaldo Gapayao Bayting, who leads the Maritime Group, will be assigned to the Area Police Command in Western Mindanao. He will be replaced by Maj. Gen. Jonathan Agdamag Cabal of the Philippine National Police Academy.
CARAGA Police Regional Office chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Pepito Mata will take over the Drug Enforcement Group, replacing Brig. Gen. Dioniso Bartolome Jr., who will be assigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).
The memorandum, signed by Maj. Gen. Sidney Hernia of the DPRM and directorial staff chief Lt. Jon Arnaldo, stated that the new assignments will take effect today.
