Minor shoots dead cop-dad

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A police officer was allegedly shot dead by his seven-year-old son at their home in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday.

The victim died at the scene of the incident that occurred in Purok Eba, Barangay Bonifacio.

Investigation showed the incident was sparked by the victim’s discovery of his partner’s followers on social media TikTok.

A quarrel broke out between the couple.

Alarmed by the commotion, the boy allegedly took his father’s service firearm and shot him in the neck.

The woman told probers that her partner was jealous because some of her followers were sending her messages.

Sagay City police chief Lt. Col. John Moyat said all members of the couple’s household were subjected to paraffin tests.
