MANILA, Philippines — Classes at a criminology school in Tiaong, Quezon province were canceled after a student received a bomb threat on Friday night.

Ashley Evangelista of the Olinsterg College said she received the message on the Messenger app at around 11:30 p.m.

The message, allegedly sent from an account of a certain Charlie Luares, stated that a bomb had been planted in her school.

Evangelista immediately reported the matter to the school management, which called the police.

On Saturday morning, members of the Quezon police’s Explosives Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit inspected the school premises, but found no bomb.

The Cybercrime Group of the Philippine National Police is investigating the Messenger account that sent the threat.
