MANILA, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P212.5 million has been seized by joint operatives of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at the port of Clark in Pampanga.

A parcel declared to contain “routers” arrived at the port from the US state of New Jersey on March 21, the BOC said in a statement.

The parcel was subjected to an X-ray scan and inspected by a K-9 unit after the BOC received information from the PDEA about its supposedly illegal contents.

The X-ray and K-9 inspection indicated possible presence of prohibited drugs.

Upon opening, the package revealed 29 packs of vacuum-sealed transparent plastic bags that contained substance suspected to be shabu, weighing 31.24 kilos.

Samples of the substance were brought to the PDEA for laboratory analysis, which reportedly confirmed it to be shabu.
