Women, students in Gingoog get cash aid

MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of Women’s Month, the offices of Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez led the distribution of cash gifts to women and students in Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental on Thursday.

At least 3,000 women received P5,000 each under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The  payout was held at the Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School.

House Deputy Secretary-General Sofonias Gabonada Jr. represented the Speaker, who delivered an inspirational message.

“Walang kamatayan ang ating pagmamahal sa ating mga nanay,” Gabonada said.

Meanwhile, 856 Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training for Work Scholarship students received a cash assistance of P3,000 each.

Gingoog Mayor Erick Cañosa, TESDA-Northern Mindanao Director Dan Navarro, LISTA School president Maggie Gudella Tse and Karla Estrada of Tingog party-list also attended the event.
