MANILA, Philippines —  Police have apprehended one of the three suspects in the killing of a 47-year-old man during a shooting in Quezon City yesterday.

Alexander Galgana, 32, was collared by operatives of the Quezon City Police District while his cohorts, two men on a motorcycle, remain at large.

Paolo Unabia was standing along a street in Barangay Bagbag when unidentified assailants arrived and shot him repeatedly at around 1:25 a.m.

He was brought by bystanders to the Novaliches District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival from gunshot wounds in his back and abdomen.

Barangay public safety officers were suspicious of Galgana after closed-circuit television footage showed he was the one who pointed Unabia to the assailants.

The video also showed Galgana following the gunmen after the shooting.

Police investigators recovered six bullet casings and a deformed fired bullet at the scene of the shooting.

An investigation is underway to determine the motive for the shooting.
