MANILA, Philippines — A bomb threat hit Claret School in Quezon City on Monday, forcing the school to evacuate its students and staff and to suspend its classes in all levels.

In a statement released on Monday afternoon, the school assured the public that personnel from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have confirmed that there are no explosives or “hazardous components” that were found within the school premises.

“Rest assured that the Claret School of Quezon City (CSQC) administration will continuously ensure the safety of the school community amidst these threats,” the school’s statement read.

According to the QCPD, the school received an email containing a bomb threat at 7:30 a.m.

Following the bomb scare, the school administration immediately called the police and evacuated its staff and students on the school field.

In 2014, the QC-based school also reported a bomb threat found to be a hoax.

Meanwhile, the school beside CSQC, the Holy Family School of Quezon City, announced in a separate statement that its classes will resume following confirmation from the authorities that CSQC is safe. — with reports from the STAR/Mark Ernest Villeza
