Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — An Abu Sayyaf bandit based in Sulu surrendered to the Zamboanga peninsula regional police intelligence unit headquarters in this city on Friday.

Police said Wanhar Sajirin was a follower of Mujir Yadah, who surrendered in 2022 and detained in Sulu for a string of arrest warrants for multiple murder, multiple frustrated murder and illegal possession of explosives.

Sajirin was also reportedly involved in a encounter with government troopers in Sulu in 2018.

Sulu had earlier been cleared of Abu Sayyaf bandits following the dismantling of the terrorist group on the island province.

Sajirin is undergoing custodial debriefing.
