MANILA, Philippines — Over 800 poor residents from Malabon City received P2.4 million in financial assistance under the national government’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) on Friday.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval witnessed the distribution wherein the recipients received P3,000 each in cash aid.

Sandoval lauded Sen. Imee Marcos for assisting the city government in getting the assistance for their constituents.

The beneficiaries can use the financial assistance for their everyday needs, Sandoval said.

The AICS is one of the social welfare services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development that provide financial assistance for the needs of a person or family.

The objective of the program is to help poor Filipinos in crisis to meet their needs.
