MANILA, Philippines — The construction of the third viaduct along the North Luzon Expressway in Candaba, Pampanga is now 50 percent complete, the NLEX Corp. announced yesterday.
The project spans five kilometers and is situated between two existing bridges connecting the towns of Pulilan in Bulacan and Apalit, Pampanga. The viaduct is expected to be completed in November.
NLEX Corp., a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., said the installation of the first girder on the Candaba 3rd viaduct signifies the project’s halfway completion.
“This remarkable achievement shows NLEX’s commitment to complete the project,” NLEX Corp. president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista said.
”We are very glad that our chosen construction partner, Leighton Contractors (Asia) Limited, is one with us in our objective to expedite work on the project while prioritizing the safety of all workers and ensuring the structural soundness of the new bridge,” Bautista said.
