MANILA, Philippines — Eleven people were injured in a road crash involving three public utility jeepneys (PUJs) in Quezon City yesterday.

The victims were passengers of the three PUJs, which were traveling along the northbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue.

The jeepneys figured in a road crash upon reaching the corner of Tandang Sora Avenue in Barangay Old Balara at around 10 a.m.

Probers said the jeepney driven by Noel Lipango hit another jeep after the brakes allegedly malfunctioned. The second jeepney then overturned and hit the other jeepney.

The 11 injured passengers were brought by rescuers to different hospitals for treatment.

The drivers were brought to the Quezon City Police District’s Traffic Sector 5 for investigation.
