Man, 45, demands sex from minor

MANILA, Philippines — A 45-year-old man was arrested in Manila after he allegedly demanded nude photos and sex from a girl after giving her money to help with her brother-in-law’s funeral expenses.

The girl accepted a Facebook friend request from Dennis Peñaflor Gonzales on Feb. 5, according to the Manila Police District (MPD)’s anti-cybercrime team.

Gonzales, a resident of Barangay Sipac-Almacen in Navotas, initially gave the girl money for the funeral expenses of her brother-in-law, police said.

He later offered to give the girl cash and a cell phone in exchange for her nude photos, which she gave him on Feb. 11, the MPD reported. The girl’s elder sister learned about the incident, prompting her to seek help from police.

The MPD’s anti-cybercrime team launched an entrapment on Feb. 12 to catch Gonzales, who asked the girl to have sex with him before he would give her the money and cell phone.

Gonzales faces charges of grave coercion as well as violating Republic Act 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act and RA 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
