MANILA, Philippines — Four caliber .45 pistols and bullets for various guns were seized from a suspected gunrunner in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on Friday.
Kagi Kautin, 49, did not resist when collared after transacting with undercover agents in Barangay Kitango, Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director, said yesterday.
Police conducted the sting after receiving reports from villagers, who said the suspect could be selling guns and ammunition to members of the Dawlah Islamiya and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.
Meanwhile, a report submitted to Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said a man, who was not identified, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion based on a warrant issued by a local court for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Police said a 9 mm pistol with magazine and bullets, a .22-caliber rifle, a .30-caliber rifle, an air gun, a .22-caliber revolver, several other magazines and bullets for various guns were among those recovered from the suspect.
The suspect was placed under the custody of the Bulacan provincial police intelligence unit.
