4 officials get new posts in PNP reshuffle

MANILA, Philippines — A general who hails from the Ilocos region is the new director of the Philippine National Police (PNP)’s Directorate for Operations (DO).

PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., in an order dated Feb. 15, designated Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) head Maj. Gen. Ronald Lee as DO director.

The DO coordinates and supervises PNP operations and integrates support activities.

With his new post, Lee will evaluate and prepare the mobilization of units in coordination with the directorial staff. He also prepares, coordinates and issues operational plans, orders and directives in accordance with the PNP chief’s policies.

A native of Bauang, La Union, Lee also had stints as deputy director of the Directorate for Intelligence, director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and head of the Cordillera police.

The graduate of the Philippine Military Academy’s Tanglaw-Diwa Class of 1992 once served as the PNP’s chief anti-narcotics officer, as director of the police Drug Enforcement Group.

Replacing Lee as DHRDD head is Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, the commander of the Western Visayas police.

Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco was appointed head of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.

The Western Visayas police has a new director in Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky of the Aviation Security Group.
