MANILA, Philippines — Over 1,000 couples got married during a mass wedding organized by the local government of Caloocan on Wednesday as part of its 62nd cityhood anniversary.
The mass wedding was officiated by Mayor Along Malapitan at the city’s Sports Complex.
In his speech, Malapitan congratulated the newlyweds and reminded them of the commitment they had entered into, emphasizing the importance of love and support in their relationships.
In Valenzuela City, Mayor Wes Gatchalian officiated the wedding of 163 couples on Wednesday.
The event was part of the city’s 26th Charter Day celebration.
Seventy couples from District 1 and 93 couples from District 2 exchanged “I do’s.”
The newlyweds were given free hotel accommodations and gift certificates worth P500.
