MANILA, Philippines — Household helpers or kasambahay in Central Luzon are likely to get an increase in their monthly salary.
This developed after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Central Luzon set a public hearing to discuss the possible salary adjustment for domestic helpers in the region.
The hearing on the wage adjustment for household helpers would be held at the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center in San Fernando, Pampanga on Feb. 25, the RTWPB said.
Interested parties may attend the hearing from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Stakeholders are advised to coordinate or submit their position papers to the RTWPB.
Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said 13 of 16 RTWPBs nationwide have granted salary increases to household workers.
The salary adjustment ranged from P400 to P1,000, the DOLE said.
A majority of RTWPBs have issued wage orders without waiting for formal petitions from stakeholders.
